For Nature & Wildlife Enthusiasts:
Goa & the Konkan Coast
One of the best places to visit in Maharashtra during monsoon is the Konkan Coast. A shoreline running southward from Mumbai all the way to Goa, the Konkan coast is a picturesque strip of land, perfect as a monsoon destination in India. Peppered with postcard beaches, vivid green paddy fields, rolling hills, and ruins of forts, it is a perfect pick for monsoons. Places like Alibaug, Ratnagiri, Dapoli, Malva, Ganpatipule, Tarkarli etc can be visited.
A word of caution though, the beaches here have strong monsoon currants so be careful. The rains make the heat here bearable and make for a pleasant getaway.
